Also, be sure you are familiar with your cell phone’s function, and that it’s placed where it is easy to reach.

However, the best solution overall is to avoid talking on the cell phone while you are driving at all, and wait until you are stopped to use the telephone. At the very least you should suspend conversation when driving through hazardous or unusual conditions, such as construction, traffic congestion, or unusually bad weather.
