I then changed the state to Kansas, the auto to a large four door sedan, and tried again. Now the Yahoo estimate is $532.00.

The quick estimate that you receive at a site like this is, of course, just that; an estimate. The actual price quoted by an insurer will be based on far more detailed and specific information about you and your auto. The estimate is a good way to gauge your potential insurance costs, however, and plan for purchasing your auto insurance from a company that can meet your needs and your price range.
